Some of the challenges we face in doing underground mechanical excavations is having operators who don’t have the experience to operate the excavator at a highly efficient level. This become even more apparent when we are required to operate in in very congested works area as we did at the Spruce Grove Civic Center where we had to work around multiple pile caps supports and grade beams. Another challenge we face is the depth and size of the trench is often deeper and requiring the proper sloped cutback than our machines are capable of. At the Spruce Grove Civic Center Black Swan was able to alleviate all of these challenges for us as they had highly experienced and skilled operators with the equipment to provide a safe and efficient means for mechanical excavations. I would highly recommend Black Swan for all excavation/trenching needs.

We struggled a bit with placing our skilled tradesmen in an excavator whereas he would be better suited for installing pipe in the trenches. It didn't seem to be as effective as it could be. Dave at Black Swan sped things up drastically with his vast knowledge of trenching & mechanical background. He was able to dig very safe trenches with proper cutbacks quickly and to grade. The Steelwrist is absolutely the best thing I've seen for trenching. It takes a weight off my shoulders knowing Black Swan Excavating is coming to do the digging for us.
